Play as a surveillance operator
Please, Watch The Artwork is a suspenseful adventure game developed and published by Thomas Waterzooi for PC. In this gripping title, players take the role of an evening-based surveillance operator assigned to monitor and report changes in a museum filled with seemingly alive artworks.
Please, Watch The Artwork delivers a thrilling and challenging experience with its hidden object and point-and-click mechanics, 2D graphics, and an atmospheric setting. Set in America, this casual title features non-linear gameplay, supports local co-op, and explores various themes, including psychology, dark humor, surrealism, and mystery.
Report anomalies
Set in the Museum of Animated Modern Art, also known as MaMA, players must carefully monitor the surveillance footage of artworks that depict people’s daily lives and report any changes across over 40 paintings created by American realist Edward Hopper that span six stages. Examine intricate details by zooming in on them to ensure accuracy before specifying the actual report.
Watch out for the sad clown that roams around the museum, going from one artwork to another, infecting them with his sadness. Another thing to look out for is the sound effects, since changes in them can also be considered anomalies. Don’t worry, though. The game has no background music, so it is easy to tell if the sound is an anomaly or not, albeit the effects can be subtle.
Since changes can be too nuanced, pointing out anomalies can be challenging. That’s why it features three difficulty modes, allowing players to choose a level that matches their preferred play style. To cater to a wider audience, it even features a cozy mode, which has no time limit or game-over conditions. However, remember that some of the artworks depict partial nudity.
Gripping point-and-click experience
Please, Watch The Artwork offers a thoughtful point-and-click, blending psychological themes, hidden-object gameplay, and surreal storytelling within a museum setting. Its non-linear structure and layered difficulty options make it accessible to both casual and seasoned players. With cleverly animated paintings and subtle audio cues, this adventure game invites players to observe, question, and uncover the strange truths behind static art.
